D4 may have been the most nationally well-known band on the bill, but everybody, including D4 knows that the Strike were the best band on the bill. If I remember correctly, the Strike headlined the night, because who wants to play after them?
Rebels Choice
Great split from my former roommate THD records. Two great bands, lots of solid rock. EVeryone knows D4, but shortly before (or after, I forget) this split 7" was released, THe Strike moved to Chicago and put out a couple of albums as a three piece. Speaking of hte Strike, make sure you get their early demo tape on this same blog. Search it out.
Oh, yes the artwork will say that it was Doin’ It For the Kids Records…..I was never sure why J.P. changed the name, but never fear…..this is classic THD records.
Get it here !
A Conscience Left to Struggle With Pockets Full of Rust
Socialist mod-punks, The Strike started out as a 4 piece consisting of Macalaster College kids. They later slimmed to a trio and left the twin towns for Chi-Town where they continued to grow in popularity, but eventually broke up.
This is one of their later records after they moved to Chicago, but they’ll always be a MNPunk band.
(Sorry about the long break in posts)
