Documenting Minnesota Punk Rock – One post at a time!

Boneclub

Twin Cities grunge rockers, from their 1989 debut album.

Apple

More from Boneclub. This time from their second album, the Beautiflu EP that eventually got them signed to Imago.

Everythings on Fire

I could talk endlessly about how great Pat & Dacey are. I went to High School with Pat. Dacey seemed to be at every high school house party, so it really was no surprise that he and Pat got a band together. Two really great guys.  Every Boneclub show was a mini-high school reunion for me.

Dacey is apparently now doing comedy in Chicago, and is part of some kind of childrens TV show. (ask the Bing, I don’t have a link) Last I heard Pat was either running or owned a restaurant on Grand Ave. in St. Paul.

  1. Dacey Says:

    Hi Dave,

Dacey here. Thanks for posting the videos and the kind words for PK and me. As far as comedy, it’s kind of true. I got to Chicago a few years ago and couldn’t find anyone to do music so I started taking improv classes. Since then I’ve been doing improvised and sketch comedy. I sometimes write songs for shows. One time I had to write a series of songs for a made-up 90’s arena rock band. One of the songs ended up being about a vile (ignore: it is delicious) Chicago liquor called Jeppsons Maloort. Day job = working on the totally-not-programming part of applying semantic programming to handheld software. It’s an interesting living.

    As of May 9, 2011:

Pat Kallemeyn is running and part-owner of Saji-Ya on Grand Ave. in St. Paul. Still need to talk to that guy every month or so.

Andrew Arashiba is doing music and owning/running his own car repair in the south burbs. Has the most hilarious children an uncle could want.

Ben Craig is in MN and doing music. Also married the lead singer from Riverdance. I am not making this up.

Dave Andler is in Baltimore owning/running Morphius records. I think he’s playing as well.

John Hausman is in Sweden. We are Facebook friends but I am not sure what he is doing. He travels a lot and seems to have chicks on his arm in many pictures. He is either a DJ or an assassin.

David Lewis became an Art Director for an ad agency in Minneapolis. Before that he was a pastry chef among other things. This guy is always full of surprises.

Sean Hoffman is in Minneapolis bands including the Giravves. Funny as hell on Facebook. Friend him. He has a bazillion. What’s one more?

Brian Hinnenkamp died way too fucking young from a heart defect.

As far as the rest, Cody, Eric, Morgan, etc. I am not sure. I unfortunately lost touch with those fellas.

Speaking of lost touch, which Dave is this anyway? Feel free to send me a note at he email in the submission. Conversely, friend me on Facebook. It ain’t hard seeing as I am the only Dacey Arashiba on the planet. Send an identifying message just the same because since the last time we met it is likely that I have had a drink or one hundred thousand and need a little brain jostling.

    Thanks again,
    Dacey

The rest I have unfortunately lost track of.
