The Tranques

KCOR

Willful Neglect evolved into The Tranques. They released a 2 song 7" on Prospective Records (Heavy Whispers) which was actually two songs from the never released 3rd Album, Big Enough to Get it. About half that unreleased album was added to the CD release of the first 2 EP’s.

This song is not from that 7" single, and not from the Big Enough to Get it album.  This was recorded in 1988 as a followup to the Heavy Whispers single.  The single has been unreleased to date.  The line up appears to be Willful Neglect minus Wade (singer) and Scott (Drummer).  Scott was replaced with a new drummer, and singing duties were handled by Rory.

Anyway too much babbling. Enjoy this little nugget. I really do.

Disrespect

Disrespect (self titled)

More crust punk from Minneapolis.   From the Profane Existence website:

Veterans members of Misery, Destroy, Pissed, and Civil Disobedience, plus a couple of new faces, have joined together to play the style of music that brought them into the punk movement – 80’s punk rock in the UK style. Having played entire sets of classic punk songs for most of their two years’ existence, Disrespect have finally turned their attention to original songs of their own, highlighing the musical style that brought them together. Five songs of male/female vocal fronted, sing-along punk rock, with social-political lyrics, and all the power you’d expect from a PE release. Includes fold-out poster sleeve and are pressed on red vinyl. Read the review at Aversiononline!

Out of print (according to the PE website).

The Khayembii Communique (Self Titled)

Emo/Screemo.   Past my active time in the scene, and I was never much of an emo fan, so I really don’t know much about them.  This guy seems to though.

Wallow in Squalor

From Profane Existence #27:
State of Fear are a bunch of fucking goons that hang around the PE office entirely too much. Having no better space-filler and nothing better to do on a cold December evening, I decided to do the following interview. I guess I will reluctantly point out that State of Fear are Jay (ex-Disrupt) on guitar and vocals, John (ex-Deformed Conscience, etc) on Bass and vocals, Bracken (ex-Sasquatch) on guitar and Fred (ex-Human Greed) on drums. This all-star cast of clowns have two excellent ep’s available. Their first released earlier this year on Reiterate Records, and the newest "Wallow in Squalor" just out on PE Records (released exactly 31 days from the date of recording. Im-fucking-pressive or what?). Enough of this boring introduction crap.. on with it…!

Cleveland Bound Death Sentence CD

Aaron Cometbus & Paddy from D4 team up for some good old punk rock.  Put out by Lookout Records, I believe this was a compilation of the early singles.

Five Story Garage
Easily my favorite of the two MSA records. This one just kicks some serious ass. One the phone, can’t get enough….this record is full of great early 80’s midwest punk. If you liked the first record, or the Kitten tracks, you’ll love this!

Ground Zero

Self Titled LP
I’ve been looking for this record, and their second offering “Pink” for quite some time. I used to see them both in the record stores back in the day, but for some reason, never this one (I do own Pink, but haven’t listened to it in decades). From what I remember, Pink just wasn’t my thing (probably why I never bought this one) but the bass player from Ground Zero went on to play in what is possibly Minnesota’s first straight-edge hardcore band…Outcry (went on to release on EP on Positive Force, and a single on Red Decibel).
